Community Learning Resource Hub

This page serves as a Community Learning Resource Hub for the most used technologies within Clarke County Public Schools. You will find images or logos of each technology below with the name, an instructional video, and further resources underneath. This is a dynamic resource that will have more technologies added and resources updated throughout the school year. If you find that we're missing a technology you'd like to learn more about, please submit this form and we'll get it added as soon as we can after evaluating its use in CCPS.

Most Used CCPS Technology

CCPS instructional technology consists of the tools and systems that coexist and interact to allow for the differentiation of time, pace, path, and place of student learning. Below are some tools that are available to all staff, students, and/or families. There are many other tools used for distance learning that are available by grade level, course, and/or site.

Chromebooks

Students in grades 6 - 12 receive a Chromebook at the beginning of the school year. This device will travel with students from school to home each day. Please visit Student Chromebook Resources to learn more!

Nearpod

Nearpod is an instructional platform that merges formative assessment and dynamic media for collaborative learning experiences. Nearpod is a go-to tool for interactive presentations and assessments. It can be found at https://nearpod.com/

Email, Messaging, & Social Media

Email, School Messenger, and Social Media are used for all major communications and announcements, including those from principals and the superintendent. Teachers and other instructional personnel also use these platforms to communicate along with others for interacting with their students.

    • Google Mail (Gmail)

      • This is the official email service of CCPS. All staff and students in grades 6-12 have access to CCPS Google Mail accounts.

    • School Messenger

      • School Messenger is a notification system that uses phone and email to provide timely communication to parents and staff on matters such as snow days, early dismissals and school or district emergencies.

    • Social Media

      • CCPS maintains social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook. Important announcements and information are cross-posted on these platforms. Many CCPS teachers have professional Twitter accounts students, parents, and colleagues can follow as well.

G Suite for Education

    • Google Calendar: Google Calendar is a time-management and scheduling calendar service developed by Google. It is accessed via calendar.google.com or via mobile app for iOS or Android.

    • Google Classroom (Learning Management System or LMS): All assignments and resources will be posted here for students to access. All work will be turned in here as well. It is access via classroom.google.com or via mobile app for iOS or Android.

    • Google Contacts: Google Contacts is Google's contact management tool that is available in its free email service Gmail, as a standalone service, and as a part of Google's business-oriented suite of web apps G Suite. It can be accessed via contacts.google.com or via mobile app for iOS or Android.

    • Google Docs: Google Docs is a word processor, often compared to Microsoft Word, included as part of a free, web-based software office suite offered by Google within its Google Drive service. It can also be accessed via docs.google.com or via mobile app for iOS or Android.

    • Google Drawings: Google Drawings is a virtual board that allows users to create content by drawing, pasting images, linking videos and websites, and inserting text, shapes, tables, and other content onto a page offered by Google within its Google Drive service. Users can create flow charts, diagrams, concept maps, visual storyboards, original art and more. It can also be accessed via drawings.google.com.

    • Google Drive: Google Drive is a file storage and synchronization service developed by Google. Google Drive allows users to store files securely in the cloud, synchronize files across devices, and share files. It is accessed via drive.google.com or via mobile app for iOS or Android.

    • Google Forms: Google Forms is a survey & assessment program included as part of a free, web-based software office suite offered by Google within its Google Drive service. It can also be accessed via forms.google.com

    • Google Keep: Google Keep is a note-taking service developed by Google. Keep offers a variety of tools for taking notes, including text, lists, images, and audio. It can be accessed via keep.google.com or via mobile app for iOS or Android.

    • Google Meet: Teachers may host synchronous learning session with group of 10 or less students. Participants access sessions via Google Classroom. It can also be accessed via meet.google.com

    • Google Slides: Google Slides is a presentation program, often compared to Microsoft PowerPoint, included as part of a free, web-based software office suite offered by Google within its Google Drive service. It can also be accessed via slides.google.com

    • Google Sheets: Google Sheets is a spreadsheet program, often compared to Microsoft Excel, included as part of a free, web-based software office suite offered by Google within its Google Drive service. It can also be accessed via sheets.google.com

    • Google Sites: Google Sites is a drag and drop website creation program included as part of a free, web-based software office suite offered by Google within its Google Drive service. It can also be accessed via www.sites/google.com/new

    • YouTube: Google's online video-sharing platform allowing for viewing, sharing, and even creating videos.

Online Textbooks

Nearly all textbooks used within CCPS have online components. These online resources range from an entire student version of the textbook to review materials and activities. Login information is provided by your student's teacher.

Performance Matters

Performance Matters is an assessment and analytics software utilize within CCPS for giving assessments, tracking data (both assessment and intervention), and analyzing data to guide instruction and planning.

PowerSchool

PowerSchool is the student information system (SIS) that houses student attendance, grades, schedules, and more. It is accessible via the web or a mobile app. Contact your student's course scheduler for access assistance to the Parent Portal.

Screencastify

Screencastify is the #1 screen recorder for Google Chrome, installed via Google Chrome extension. Screencastify can Capture your tab, whole screen, or webcam only, Embed your webcam anywhere in your recording, Narrate with your microphone, and Record offline (no internet required!).

ST Math

ST Math is a visual math program that builds a deep conceptual understanding of math through rigorous learning and creative problem solving that dynamically adapts to student ability as they learn, grow, and complete work. It is used throughout the elementary grades.

Chromebooks

All students in grades 6 through 12 will be issued a Chromebook beginning in the 2018 - 2019 school year that they take home each day throughout the school year. Students in PK-5 utilize devices at school that remain in the school buildings. Any student in PK-5 that struggles to complete work at home due to lack of a device can contact their school's administrator to begin the process to receive a CCPS owned student device for use throughout the school year/periods of remote learning.

Common Sense District Badge

CommonSense.org

Our district is one of just 150 districts across the country to earn recognition as a Common Sense District. As a result, our students are better equipped to navigate the digital world and use devices for learning.


This site has sections on curriculum at all grade levels, ed tech tool ratings, and more. The curriculum is utilized throughout PK-8 in CCPS


This site contains resources for choosing movies, apps, websites, and games that appropriate for your students (searchable by age). There is also information included on digital citizenship research.
